AECI 'SMOOTHER SOUL TRAVEL WITH SABETH' RESOURCE PACK
The resource pack entitled 'Smoother Soul Travel With Sabeth' focuses on issues related to spiritual well being and mental health with reference to the life and writings of Elizabeth. It is designed for personal use and/or for wider parish group or school group study and reflection at Key Stage Three and Four. There are a series of questions for discussion included and an opportunity for 'Lectio Divina'.

AECI PRAYER
Elisabeth Catez (Elizabeth Of The Trinity) provides a helpful understanding about how we might approach prayer and meditation. She writes, ‘…when I say prayer, I do not mean reciting a vast quantity of vocal prayers every day. I mean the elevation of the soul to God through all things’.
Along with members of the CSG Forum and with friends of the AECI website, we have devised a short prayer that can be accessed at the link below. The prayer can be used for individual or for collective worship, study and reflection. It can indeed also be read in a reverse order (from words at the bottom of the page to the words at the top of the page) to encourage stillness with the prayer itself and a deeper focus on the respective lines. AECI UNIT OF STUDY FOR KEY STAGE TWO RELIGIOUS EDUCATION : 'Responding and Belonging In Strange Times' (November 2020)
​
This continues to be a most anxious and challenging time for headteachers, for teachers and for pupils across the UK school system, with growing concern around the 'emotional and the mental well-being' of our young people as we continue through 'Covid' restrictions and adjust to new routines in education. It is in a spirit of support and empathy that we offer this RE scheme/unit of study at Key Stage Two for pupils aged between 7-11 years old. Entitled 'REsponding and BElonging in STrange Times', it is based upon the early life of 'Elizabeth of the Trinity'.
It's objectives, areas of study and lesson content follow the guidelines set out by the 'Religious Education Curriculum Directory' for Catholic Schools and Colleges in England and Wales. It can be adapted to suit smaller class sizes and 'one to one' teaching and learning. It is also presented in such a way as to correspond with any 'thematic approach' to the primary school curriculum. It has been used for some students at Key Stage Three Religious Education (11-14 years old). We do hope that this resource proves useful.

Do you perhaps live or work near to a lake? Can you reach a lake for between 15 and 30 minutes each day? Could you incorporate the following reflections into your daily routine, be it alone or alongside a friend, a colleague or someone you care for? Putting all distractions aside, the lake might be a helpful ‘natural’ means of considering, or measuring, our holistic health.
